Katrina Moore is the author of the humorous TEENY HOUDINI chapter book series (a 2025 Washington State Otter Award finalist), as well as several acclaimed picture books, including, THE STAR IN YOU (a Kansas NEA recommended book), CHANG'E ON THE MOON, (an Inclusive Book for Children Top Pick), SCHOOLTIME GRUMPS, the newest in the GRANDPA GRUMPS series (a Georgia Picture Book Award finalist), SOMETIMES LOVE (a Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year), GRUMPY NEW YEAR, HOPE IS A HOP, ONE HUG , and WHO'S BUILDING? a companion to the first book in the Big Jobs for Little Babies series, WHO'S DIGGING? Longer Biography:

Katrina Moore is an author and former elementary educator. She holds a M.A. in Teaching and taught for thirteen years in Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. She writes in Georgia, where her mission is to create books that children will hug for ages. She is the author of the humorous TEENY HOUDINI chapter book series (a 2025 Washington State Otter Award finalist), as well as several acclaimed picture books including THE STAR IN YOU (a 2025 Kansas NEA recommended book), CHANG'E ON THE MOON (a 2025 Bank Street Best Books of the Year selection and Inclusive Books for Children Top Pick), GRUMPY NEW YEAR, HOPE IS A HOP, ONE HUG, GRANDPA GRUMPS (a 2023 Georgia Picture Book Award finalist and 2025 Illinois Monarch Award finalist), and SOMETIMES LOVE (a 2023 Bank Street Best Books of the Year). Her board books include the BIG JOB FOR LITTLE BABIES series, illustrated by Benson Shum. WHO’S DIGGING? published August 2025, and WHO’S BUILDING? publishes spring 2026. When Katrina is not building new literary worlds, she is cooking without a recipe, painting outside the lines, adventuring, or snuggling up with her two kids, husband, giant pups, and of course, digging into a cozy book.
