" "Moore has beautifully shaped a tale of two lovers who embody compassion, selflessness and devotion. Her telling flows lyrically in a way that draws readers of all ages into the legend while the fiery, ethereal illustrations by Cornelia Li are quite simply breathtaking. Together they have managed to create a picture book masterpiece that marries oral storytelling traditions with a modern edge." -Kristin, Reading with Red and the Magpie
